Certification before the NZRIS will confer the translator/interpreter incorporation to the Society in any three of the Membership Categories:

• Student Member
• International Member
• APEC Member

The Student Member shall complete the Student Form and provide proof of being registered in a Translation or Interpreting Course, Diploma, or Degree Studies.

The International Member shall complete the International Member Form and provide a copy of their Translation or Interpreter Qualifications.

The Apec Member is a special category of International Member for translators and Interpreters of APEC countries (Countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation). This Category will be issued automatically upon registration in the corresponding cases.

SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
In case an applicant has significant proven experience, but does not meet the above requirements they may write to the Directorate of the NZRIS requesting incorporation to the NZRIS expressing their reasons and interest to be a NZRIS member.
